After reading and enjoying the first book in the series I purchased this one in hopes of the same. I have to say that I liked this book just as much. I loved following along with the solving the crime. I was hoping for a less obvious perp though. I could have used more romance, or even just more of a look into the relationship between Olivia and Matt. There are several errors that an editor should have found, but I do not count those against a good story. Overall this was a pretty enjoyable read.Product details

I enjoyed the book. There were a couple of typos, but it didn't take away from the story. Could have used more description
of Olivia. I hope her relationship with Matthew gets resolved. The storyline was good,no blood and gore. I was surprised who the culprit was. Would read another story by 's Page.
Once again Olivia comes to the rescue of solving a murder. The fun part is reading how she does it with a few twists and turns. Although it came to an end and not a cliff hanger I wasn't overly thrilled on how it ended. With that said enjoy the story. GAB
I enjoyed this book. They story is a good easy read with a story that keeps moving all the way to the end. It is not bogged down with the three pages of obligatory sex and I don't remember any swearing. That said, it is not a religious read either. Just a good entertaining story that needed no filler.
I would recommend this to anyone.
I've read the other two Cassie Page books and was excited to read Groundbreaking Murder. The story was engaging and kept me guessing and I fell in love with Charles Bacon who appeared in the first book. Who wouldn't want to hook up with a New Jersey lottery winner with an accent like the Sopranos and a heart of gold...and doncha know, everything goes better with Bacon! I'm getting to know the characters like Tuesday, Mrs. Harmon, Cody and Cassie, and I'm loving the new ones like Sonia the banker and Mrs. Fredericks. I like prickly, strong female characters. I hope they return in future books, which I look forward to reading. I noticed that another reviewer complained about some typos and mixed up names but I didn't run across any of that so maybe they have been corrected in the newer edition. Highly recommend!
Another fast moving story in the Darling Valley series with characters I am coming to love. I was glad to see the romance between Olivia and her detective progressing and that Mrs. Harmon continues to stick a thorn in Olivia's side. The story involves a gruesome discovery on the site of a groundbreaking ceremony on Olivia's biggest project yet and delves into the real history of Mt. Tam in Marin and some interesting facts about who really settled California. And for lovers of antique cars, Charles Bacon, who appeared in the first book, becomes the focus of the story as he drives around Darling Valley in his priceless cars. A real winner. I love this series.
Did not know this was book 2 but it was great so had to get books 1 and 3. You can read this first. It is its own story and a great mystery. Lots of angles clues that make you think maybe you know the answers. Lots of human interest, archeology and budding romance.
Jewels are stolen a person is murdered and the same person is accused of this crime as in all three books..Then she has to prove her innocence yet again. But not without a great deal of stress and hard work.
